ANSWERS
A. YES. Due to the popularity of camping at Bigriggen Park, and for us to better manage our business, BOOKINGS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL TIMES - including mid-week, weekends and Long Weekends. We limit numbers throughout the year, including the number of groups at any one time to ensure campers enjoy their stay with us. These numbers do vary however, depending on the time of year, public holidays etc.
Q. Can I make my booking over the phone?
A. We prefer you book online on our website. As we require information including address and vehicle details, it is easier and quicker if you fill out your own booking form, supplying all details as required. A Booking Confirmation will be emailed to you. Bookings are not confirmed until you have received a reply. We will take a phone booking if that is your only option but we will still require the information required on the online booking form.
A. Bigriggen Park is usually only fully booked on Long Weekends, but bookings are required for all other times so we can better manage staff, supplies, etc. We also limit the number of groups at any one time. Your booking will be confirmed or denied by return email within 24 hours. Bookings are not confirmed until you have received a reply.
Q. We have friends already booked can we join them?
A. As there are no designated sites at Bigriggen Park, there is usually no problem camping with your friends. On your booking form, state the other Family or Group Name, so we can direct you to their camp site.
Q. Do I have to pay in advance?
A. Pre-payment is only required for Long Weekend bookings, and deposits are required when booking the Bunkroom Facility. Payment for camping other times is by Cash on Arrival only.
A. If a booking is cancelled with more than two (2) weeks notice - Refund less $10 Administration Fee applies.
If booking is cancelled with less than two (2) weeks notice - NO REFUND.
There may however be circumstances where by discretion of management, a credit for a future stay may be given.
Non-arrival or stay cut short - No Refund applies.
Strictly no refunds are given for Inclement weather.
A. NO. Prepayment is by Cheque or Money Order or we can supply Bank Account details for Electronic Funds Transfer. All non cash payments are subject to sufficient time for clearance.
A. NO. Payment is by Cash on Arrival only. Cheques on arrival will not be accepted.
A: The Kiosk is open from 8.00am - 6.00pm unless otherwise advised.
A. You may arrive between 8.00am - 6.00pm. Out of hours arrival is by prior arrangement only. Non disturbance of other campers must be considered.
Q: How far is Bigriggen Park from the Gold Coast and Brisbane?
A: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes - 2 hours.
A. YES. Showers are 20 cent coin operated. 20 cents gives 2 minutes of hot water.
Q. Do I need to bring Drinking Water?
A. NO. Drinking Water can be found at the Amenities Block. We do advise as an extra precaution you boil the water before drinking it.

A. NO. For the safety of campers and wildlife, pets are not permitted in Bigriggen Park.
A. YES. Small campfires are permitted. You are responsible to ensure flammable materials, grass & tents are kept clear, and that your campfire is properly extinguished when you are not in attendance. Campfires are not permitted during Fire Bans. For information on Fire Bans, go to http://www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au/Fire_bans_restrictions.html
A. YES. Split hardwood in 13kg bags is available for purchase during Kiosk hours. Do not collect firewood on private property. (You may bring your own wood, but no nails, screws etc.) Please, do not bring in firewood if you live in a FIRE ANT RESTRICTED AREA - protect Bigriggen Park from Fire Ants.
Q. Are chainsaws permitted in the Park?
A. NO. Chainsaws are not permitted. Campers found using chainsaws or axes on live or fallen trees will be asked to leave.

A. YES. Please ensure your gas bottle test date has not expired, as it is illegal to refill bottles that are out of date.
Q: Do Mobile Phones work at Bigriggen Park?
A: Generally there is no mobile phone reception. A few of the specially designed Telstra “Rural” phones may get limited reception. There is a Public Phone available for use during office hours - 8.00am - 6.00pm.
Q: Will I get TV reception at Bigriggen Park?
A: Only if you own a satellite dish.
A. Yes, Pushbikes are allowed. Remember, kids require parent supervision and helmets must be worn.
Q. Do you have Pushbikes for hire?
A. NO. Public Liability restricts us.
A. YES, although access along the Logan River is limited.
Q. Do you have canoes for hire?
A. NO. Public Liability restricts us.
A. Registered Road Bikes with low noise output are only permitted for use on the property as transport modes in and out of the park. Definitely no noisy or unregistered motorbikes are allowed to be used on the property or roads surrounding the property.
Q: Can we bring Trailbikes or Quadbikes?
A: NO. They are definitely not permitted at Bigriggen Park under any circumstances.
Q. Can we go 4WD’ing at Bigriggen Park?
A. NO. 4WD’ing is not permitted on the property. We require all vehicles to remain on the purpose made tracks as much as possible.
Q. Can we fish in the Logan River?
A. YES. Please be responsible regarding hooks and tangled lines, for the safety of wildlife and campers. Bass, Perch, Mullet and Carp have be caught in the waterhole. Carp must not be returned to the river.
A. YES, we have frozen prawns and live worms when available.
A. Please advise Kiosk if you wish to use a Generator. Generators may be allowed at the discretion of the Management, subject to camping numbers at the time, but must only be used between the hours of 8.00am - 10.00am and 5.00pm - 8.00pm and must be rated at 65 db. or less. If Management receives a noise complaint, you will be asked to cease using your Generator.
Q. Is access to Bigriggen Park suitable for 2WD vehicles and caravans?
A. YES. The last 2 km into Bigriggen Park is a gravel road but is suitable for all vehicles. There is no problem with access for Caravans, Motorhomes, Buses etc to most areas in the Park.
