LocationQRCodeYou might have picked up the difference in spelling between the name of the park and the name of the road and location. This is not a mistake on our part! A person who shall remain nameless back in history mis-spelt Bigriggen Bigriggan when applying for a school to be built here. He got the school we got the confusion!

Bigriggen is spelt, (and often mis-spelt), in a number of ways. Bigriggen (Park) is the correct spelling. Bigriggan (Road) is also correct. The following are incorrect for both the Park and Road… Bigriggin, Bigrigen, Bigrigin, Bigrigan, Big Riggen, Big Riggan, Big Riggin, Big Rigen, Big Rigin and Bigrigan.

Directions From Rathdowney

Drive through Rathdowney, turn right after the School into Boonah – Rathdowney Road. After 6.9km turn first left into Upper Logan Road. After approx. 500m cross Dog Leg Gully, then right into Bigriggan Road which is a gravel road through private property – follow this 2km to Bigriggen Park.

Directions From Boonah

If you are coming from Boonah, follow the Boonah – Rathdowney Road for approx. 30km. Immediately after the Logan River Todd’s Bridge, turn right into Upper Logan Road. After approx. 500m cross Dog Leg Gully, then right into Bigriggan Road which is a gravel road through private property – follow this 2km to Bigriggen Park.

If you are using a GPS to find your way to Bigriggen Park there are some pitfalls we would like to point out to you, (best to be wary rather than turn up weary). The main area of concern is coming from Boonah where a number of GPS maps navigate you off the Boonah – Rathdowney Road in a few places.

These places include…

  • Left hand turn into Bunburra Road to navigate you along the Cannon Creek – Maroon Road. This road is a gravel road and 4×4 access in wet weather and not suitable for most cars and steep in parts therefore not recommended for towing Caravans, etc.
  • Right hand turn into Cotswold Road to navigate you along Forest Home Road. This route is a gravel road not recommended for through traffic.
  • Right hand turn into Bigriggen a few metres after Forest Home Road. This is not possible as the road does not exist now. You have to travel along Boonah – Rathdowney Road to Upper Logan Road where you turn right.
  • Another road which no longer exists is the connecting road between Flanagan Reserve Road and Bigriggen Road should you be coming from Mt Barney or going to Mt Barney from Bigriggen Park.
